Educational Tasting: Grape Variety Series: Pinot Noir: 9+ Wines (7pm, Wednesday May 6th, 2026

This is the 2nd run of our new Grape Variety Series, and we move on to the 10th most planted grape in teh world: Pinot Noir! 

Pinot Noir: 

Known for its high acid, low tannin profile, and of course making some of the most sought after wines on the planet! Unlike Nebbiolo, Pinot Noir is planted nearly everywhere! We'll be tasting 9+ wines, with quite a bit of range, of course including some Burgundy, as well as Willamette Valley, California, and much more! Join us in our exploration of Pinot Noir on Wednesday May 6th.

The class includes light appetizers.

Grape Variety Series:

At the Village Wine Merchant, we have variety first approach, with the feeling that the grape variety is the most important aspect of a wine. Nature's first gift. Without the grape, there is no wine! Second, is terroir; the soil, the exposure, the unique climate that enhances the particularity of that given grape, making it something you couldn't find anywhere else in the world. Next, is human intervention; first in viticulture, and then in winemaking. Both require artistic creativity, science, and more importantly a diligent and unrelenting willingness to be present in observation, letting the grapes, and the must guide our decisions.
