60% Grenache., 25% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, 5% Cinsault averaging 35 to 60 years. A “Maclura” is a type of Osage Orange tree from Oklahoma that inexplicably found its way to the edges of this single vineyard in Sorgues-sur-Rhône. In 2012, Châteauneuf-du-Pape icons Paul and Laurence Féraud purchased this 100+ acre estate and renamed it Château Pégau. It is an exceptional terroir situated less than 4 miles southeast of CDP. Loaded with classic Côtes du Rhône fruit and spice, the wines retain the hallmark stamp and identity of Pégau. Intense aromas of cassis, blackberry, and spice, with soft, ripe, tannins on the palate.



With grilled or roast red meats, as well as dried meats, serve at 17°C.

About Pegau

An old Provencal farmhouse located in Sorgues, on the banks of the Rhône between Châteauneuf du Pape and Avignon. This property is surrounded by 41 hectares of vineyards established on a magnificent terroir partially covered with rolled pebbles. Fantastic Côtes du Rhône Villages reds, very typical red & white Côtes du Rhône wines, red table wines and also typical rose wines are produced here. The Domaine & Château Pegau are attached to a traditional culture that enhances the expression of the terroirs, winegrowing & winemaking.
